Ubisoft, canceled three games and postponed Skull & Bones

ubisoft announced that there have been changes in their plans for the future. According to what was communicated by the Software House, in fact, three titles not yet announced have been canceled, Skull & Bones has been postponed again, and costs will be cut by at least $200 million over the next two years.

The reasons behind this decision are varied. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope And Just Dance 2023published by ubisoft over the course of 2022, they fared worse than expected. “We are very disappointed with our recent performance” he has declared Yves Guillemot, CEO of the company. “We are dealing with a constantly changing market and with a sharply worsening macroeconomic situation that is affecting consumer spending“. This led ubisoft has focused on improving the services offered and perfecting its most popular brands, which is why the three new games not yet announced have been cancelled.

To be affected by this change in Ubisoft’s corporate policy was also Skull & Bones, a title that will allow players to take on the role of a pirate that has been in development for a long time and was planned for the beginning of 2023, which has been delayed to the beginning of 2024. This will allow the developers to create an experience of clean and balanced game right from the start. For this they have ubisoft also plans to launch games such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage And Avatars: Frontiers of Pandoraof which however at the moment there is no more precise information.
