TikTok in the world of video games

Apparently, the company Bytedance is looking to introduce this feature across Southeast Asia during the third quarter of this year, meaning between July and September. At the moment it is not known, nor from TikTok nor from the report Reutersif the company plans to launch this feature for Western audiences in the future as well.

Also, we have no idea how the testing phase went in Vietnam for TikTok. It may be that the function was not welcomed as Bytedance he hoped, but given that the company plans to launch it in Southeast Asia later in the year, we can assume it was successful enough to expand to other regions.

According to the report, the company intends to tap “mainly”To the game library of Bytedance for this new push. The Chinese company develops mobile games such as One Piece: The Voyagand, therefore it is possible that the thrust of TikTok focus on mobile games.

Either way, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that the company is gearing up to enter the gaming industry. As reported by GamesIndustry.biz in November of 2021, Bytedance made the video game one of its main pillars in a structural change, signaling an entry into the industry.
