the variant cover of the first issue pays homage to the bicycle kick by Carlo Parola, icon of the Panini albums

Blue Lock is currently one of the hottest new sports mangawhich mixes typical elements of battle shonen with the world of football, with the usual exaggeration typical of the Japanese.

The manga published by Panini Comics is having great success here. In the past few hours, the publishing house has presented a variant edition of the first volume, exclusive to Italywhich on a cover with a metallic background depicts the protagonist intent on performing the most iconic bicycle kick in the history of Italian football, that of Carlo Parola, immortalized way back in 1950 during a Fiorentina – Juventus match, and which has become the best-known symbol of Panini, especially in the context of the collections relating to the albums of Panini footballers, a tradition that has accompanied our parents and us in childhood and (why not) also in adulthood.

The content of this variant edition of Blue Lock will include the first volume of the manga, and an exclusive interview with the two authors of the work Muneyuki Kaneshiro (screenplay) and Yusuke Nomura (artist).

The variant edition will be bookable from the Panini store or from your trusted comic shop that adheres to the initiative only between 13 January and 21 January 2023after which it will no longer be possible to get your hands on this exclusive volume.

The price is also quite affordable, slightly higher than the cover price of a normal volume, in fact we are talking about 7.50 eurosnothing to do with the very limited and very expensive Variant Edition of Berserk Deluxe came out a few months and gone sold out in a matter of minutes.

The volume wants to be a small tribute to a great and iconic brand that will remain in the history of Italian publishing (and football).

A Blue Lock animated series is currently running on Cruchyroll, with Italian subtitles.

And what do you think, will you make this volume your own? Let us know, as always, in the comments.
