As many will remember, At the beginning of the year FromSoftware decided to temporarily disable the servers of Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 in their PC versions. The reason for this drastic choice was anything but trivial. Several and very serious security flaws they had in fact been found within the multiplayer component of the three titles. This situation has been going on for over 120 daysunfortunately, but FromSoftware has confirmed that this “shut-down” won’t last much longer.
In a statement to the PC Gamer editorial team, FromSoftware reiterated that they are working to get the servers back online. Unfortunately, the team has seen well by communicating dates or even just time windows in which to expect a resurrection of the servers. “We are currently in the process of restoring the Dark Souls series online servers to PC”explains From.
“We are planning to restore online services for each game progressively, activating the Dark Souls 3 servers only once we complete the necessary work to correct the problem”continues FromSoftware, explaining how a progressive reboot is the best solution and for this reason it will not reset the servers of all 3 games at the same time.
The study then concluded, saying: “We will provide you with additional updates as soon as our recovery program is finalized. We want to thank all our players for your patience “, and that the team is currently at work. In short, finally we begin to see a light at the end of this tunnel.
In the meantime, however, remember that Elden Ring servers on PC do not have these problems. The same goes for the servers of the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the titles related to the Dark Souls series.
