Capcom it is currently in one of the highest moments in its history, both in terms of the quality of its video games and the profits generated by them. Titles like Monster Hunter Rise And Resident Evil 8: Village they managed to sell more than 9 and 6 million copies respectively worldwide. Despite the fact that the two aforementioned franchises are more popular than ever, the Japanese company suggested in a recent meeting with investors its interest in reviving some of its historic intellectual properties that have fallen into oblivion for years.
Capcom: a great return?
The studio has an infinite number of forgotten sagas that could make a comeback, titles like: Lost Planet, Dragon’s Dogma, Okami, Viewtiful Joe or Power Stone, are just a few examples. But what plans does the company have for these and many other IPs that have been inactive for many years? A Capcom representative replied: “We are currently developing plans based on market demand data. In the future we will continue to take into account the wishes of our players especially for the design of future titles ”.
Capcom he also recently revealed that he would release “several great new titles” before April 2023, although sadly at the moment we cannot say that the return of one of his forgotten sagas is included in this plan.
We remind you that in September last year Nvidia suffered a leak that included major titles in development not yet announced. Among these was the long-awaited Dragon’s Dogma 2, which has not yet been confirmed by Capcom, although there are other clues that suggest the game has been in development for years. On the other hand, Hideki Kamiyaa very important creative in the development of Viewtiful Joe And Okamihas reiterated on several occasions that he would be happy to be able to release new sequels for these titles.
