Staying true to the lore of the film saga and maintaining a kind of “Balance in strength”, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 will bring both good and bad news for its users in the coming months: the DLC “Lord of the Sith”, indeed, will be released during the 3rd quarter of 2022 (therefore in the summer, or at the end of the latter, between July and September), and the players can only be happy with this, however, a dark threat looms over them, the not compatible with the base game saves.
But let’s proceed calmly, at least starting to talk about the contents of this expansion: new dialogue and interactions, a bonus mission starring HJ-47 and a new revamped ending. Sure, a title like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 does not need a DLC to be considered huge in itself, but maybe, for old players, it will be nice to embark on an adventure almost entirely new compared to the legendary title based on the saga of star wars (which they may have played and replayed until exhaustion).
The launch window has therefore been set: by the end of the summer, KOTOR 2 players will be able to get their hands on the new game content!
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: incompatibility of bailouts
Now let’s talk about the elephant in the room, something that cannot be ignored: confirmed by it Aspyr (videogame company specialized in porting titles from one console to another), unfortunately the save files of the base game will not be compatible with the DLC.
What does this mean? In short, you will not be able to play the expansion by continuing the game you started previously, but you will have to forcibly restart a new playthrough to take advantage of the additional content.
You will also have the free choice of ending your first game, disabling the DLC in the main menu, and then starting a new one by perhaps creating another PC.
Of course, no one would want to be told that the hours accumulated in a GDR title must be taken and thrown in the bin, especially in a gargantuan title such as one can be. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, but anyway, this time Aspyr was unable to make everything fit perfectly. Of course, there are still several weeks left until the release of the expansion, enough to end the campaign (?), And it is not certain that the situation will not be able to unblock in the future.
