The war has been affecting Ukraine for months and GSC Game World, a Kiev-based studio was one of the hardest hit in the industry after the Russian invasion. At the beginning of March, the software house of STALKER 2 it had suspended its development to help war-affected employees in the midst of the attack on the Ukrainian capital.
STALKER 2: work has resumed
The study shared statements calling for help from the first attacks. Since then they have not stopped showing gestures in defense of their country, such as the renaming of the game title to STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on Steam, writing the name of the city of Chernobyl in Ukrainian, instead of the term popularized by Russian influence.
After their escape from the war, the members of GSC Game World have moved to new offices in the Czech Republic and it seems they have already managed to get back to the development of the long-awaited action game. Recently on the discord channel dedicated to the game, a user asked about the state of development and if it had been resumed.
One of the developers of GSC Game World he replied assuring that “it is continuing”. The release of the shooter is still scheduled for on December 8 this year. Knowing that the developers are back to work on the game is great news, but you have to be cautious and wait for more information to know how much the development deadlines have been affected.
