Lightyear will see the arrival of a pleasant cameo that will certainly make all Toy Story lovers happy and, at the same time, Motorsport fans. Disney Pixar and Scuderia Ferrari have in fact entered into a collaboration for the participation in the film of his two standard bearers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. In fact, both drivers of the red will take part in the film as a dubbing cameo.
The confirmation comes from the official Disney Pixar channel, as well as from the social profiles of the two pilots. In the short video released by Disney Pixar, Charles Leclerc explains his passions and what unites him to Buzz Lightyear. Like the astronaut, Leclerc also has to deal with vehicles capable of reaching incredible speeds is that show off the best of aerospace technology, sector from which Formula 1 has taken with both hands since its inception.
Furthermore, Leclerc also explains that, like Buzz, he too is alone in the car but at the same time he is followed by a team of engineers that communicate all data continuously. Leclerc then goes on to make a motivational speech about his goals, which in his case clearly equate to conquest of the Formula 1 World Championship.
At the moment, the roles that will be played by the two drivers are not clear. What is certain is that, contrary to what Wikipedia reported, Charles Leclerc will not be voicing the character of Buzz Lightyear. That role is currently entrusted to Alberto Malanchino. Furthermore, due to timing issues, Leclerc could not have dubbed all the characters’ lines anyway.
The video description reads: “The legendary Scuderia Ferrari team has joined the team of #Lightyear on an incredible adventure! Charles Leclerc will have a dubbing cameo in the film that tells the origin story of the famous Space Ranger we all love ”.
Lightyear is expected in Italian cinemas starting June 15th.
