Rosemann does not envision a universe like the MCU

Bill Rosemann, VP and Creative Director of Marvel Gamesrevealed that the company has no plans to build a connected universe within its games similar to what the Marvel Cinematic Universe did.

In an interview, Rosemann made it clear that they want to have the freedom to tell their own stories within their games and not be bound by a general narrative.

The world is, surprisingly, very familiar and accepts the multiverse. We all have these different realities. They are all real now and we want to give everyone the freedom to tell their own story. We don’t mean “you can’t blow up the moon, because this game here from another studio needs the moon.” We want to give everyone the freedom and free lane to tell their story.

Marvel video games have already seen a number of major endeavors in recent years, including Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales , Marvel’s Avengers , Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and there is also Wolverine And Spider-Man 2 in the pipeline.

On top of that, Skydance Media has just announced a new video game starring Black Panther and Captain America, while Iron Man is under development at EA Motive Studio.
