PlayStation Showcase: Yes, the presentation will be broadcast next week

As is well known, E3 2023 will not take place. So the developers are looking for other ways and means to inform the fans about new releases. Sony is now pushing forward and announcing a PlayStation Showcase for the next week. The rumors are finally confirmed.

Every year, E3 marks an opportunity for developers to showcase their games to the general public. But as is well known, the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2023 is cancelled, so the studios have to get creative. Some rally under the flag of the Summer Game Fest hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Among them was Sony, but the company is a bit different from the big event. The newly confirmed PlayStation Showcase will take place next week, on May 24, 2023 at 10:00 p.m. German time. The Summer Game Fest, on the other hand, will not start until June 8, 2023.

We can only guess what exactly awaits us at Sony’s presentation. The rumor mill has already boiled over in the last few weeks. For example, there is talk of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but a PlayStation 5 Pro is also possible. On the other hand, we think the implied remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is a little less reliable. And on the subject of Bloodborne, it’s best not to say anything at all, that just makes us sad.

Sony itself only reveals this much: The show is “just over an hour long” and is intended to focus on titles for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR 2 that are currently in development. Expect some new creations from PlayStation Studios, as well as immersive games from third-party and indie developers. You can follow the show on YouTube and Twitch.

Additional presentations at Summer Game Fest will be held by Xbox on June 11, 2023. On June 12, 2023, Ubisoft will follow with its own Forward program. Indie fans, on the other hand, will get their money’s worth at the Day of the Devs, which will be presenting the latest titles from Double Fine and iam8bit on June 8, 2023.
