The Japanese company shared a lot of unpublished information on the new version of the subscription service.
On the occasion of the launch of the new PlayStation Plus starting today in Asia, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a lot of new information on this “2.0” version of its subscription service.
The Japanese giant has therefore confirmed as these three new tiers subscription will take over the task of joining the PlayStation Plus and the PlayStation Nowallowing fans to subscribe to the three tiers Essential, Extra And Premium (Deluxe in non-streaming markets).
Sony reveals in detail how the new PlayStation Plus subscription tiers work
The new Plus will be launched in most countries where PlayStation Network is available. Here is the launch schedule (local dates):
- Asia (excluding Japan): Launch begins today
- Japan: June 2, 2022
- North and South America: June 13, 2022
- Australia, New Zealand and Europe: June 23, 2022

The new Plus will be launched in Europe on the day of June 23, 2022, with a line-up of over 700 titles across three subscription plans. Selected content will include blockbuster titles such as Demon’s Souls, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, NBA 2K 22, Red Dead Redemption 2, Returnal and many more.
Members PlayStation Plus will switch to Plus Essentialenjoying the same advantages currently offered by the Plus, such as monthly PS4 and PS5 games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, access to online multiplayer, and much more. There will be no changes to existing PlayStation Plus benefits.
In addition, current subscribers to the Now will switch to PlayStation Plus Premium with no increase in the current subscription fee, this is because Now will no longer be available as a standalone subscription service when the three new subscriptions are launched.
With the new service Plus the games will continue to update every month, with the updates being available twice a month. The Essential plan will see the announcement on the first Tuesday of each month, which will add new PS4 and PS5 games every month.
Instead, a further update will be available halfway through each month with new games for the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium / Deluxe plans. The number of games updated will vary each month.

- PC: streaming only
Plan PlayStation Plus Premium offers streaming playback in select markets, with resolution options up to 1080p. Quality varies depending on the speed and bandwidth of your internet connection and requires at least 5 Mbps or 15 Mbps for 1080p.
What are the minimum requirements to stream games through the PlayStation Plus Premium plan on PC?

- 2 GB of RAM

For optimal performance, the following specifications are recommended:
