Phantom Liberty. The DLC will be paid, confirms CD Projekt RED

Announced a few months ago and received with some enthusiasm, Phantom Liberty is the first – perhaps only – DLC of Cyberpunk 2077’s plot expansion. Unveiled during one of the most recent Night City Wire, the content will expand the story by introducing new characters and “calling back” Johnny Silver (Keanu Reeves) e will have Sasha Gray as speaker of exception in the new radio of Night City.

Although it was already intuitive at the beginning, a definitive and unequivocal confirmation was still lacking. Phantom Liberty will not be distributed for free – as instead expected for the aesthetic contents inspired by Edgerunners – but it will take a certain amount of money to get it. To reiterate it is Radek Grabowski, Global PR Director of CD Projekt RED.

Grabowski hasn’t yet unbuttoned what the possible price of Phantom Liberty is but says that, as per tradition for CD Projekt RED, it will be much cheaper than the full game. To make a very quick comparison: for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, the Blood and Wine expansion cost about 20 dollars, Heart of Stone half that. Sure, then both came free with the Game of the Year edition of the same game, but only some time later.

Speaking of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED is working on a sequel or in any case on a game set in the same narrative universe. This is what is known by the code name of Project Orion. Compared to The Witcher 3, in the past few hours the release date of the next-gen update for PS5 and Xbox Series has been announced, this one is completely free.
