Mortal Kombat 1 announcement later this week?

Netherrealm Studios appears to be preparing to announce Mortal Kombat 1 this week before. Previously, there were repeated references to the imminent Reveal, which always pointed to this May.

In the latest teaser from Mortal Kombat-Creator Ed Boon writes this one down Twitterthat things might get fun later this week, followed by a dragon smiley, traditionally used for the Mortal Kombatseries stands.

This was preceded by various teasers, on the one hand that it is a kind of reboot of the series and not Mortal Kombat 12as well as various guest characters, including Conan, the Peacemaker from DC or Homelander from the comic “The Boys”.

Various editions were also mentioned, including the Mortal Kombat 1 Standard Edition, a Premium Edition, and a more expensive Collector’s Edition. The publication is probably only planned for the current consoles and the PC. Last-gen players apparently get nothing this time.

That actually closest Mortal Kombat is being worked on has already been announced by Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who only said in February:

“There’s much more to come, including the highly anticipated games Mortal Kombat 12 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, games also set to release this year with ambitious launch forecasts,” said Zaslav.

With that, it seems only a matter of a few days until Netherrealm actually reveals what more is currently working on.
