LG yesterday presented the first models of the 2022 monitor family. Among these it stands out the Ultra Gear 48GQ900 which is proposed as the first OLED monitor designed specifically for gamingeven the next-gen one on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
In these last years LG was the market leader when it comes to OLED TVsand the successes achieved by the Smart TV CX and C1 entered the homes of many gamers and beyond, are here to prove it.
From today all the technology and know-how obtained in the TV field is transferred to the gaming monitor sector, thus giving birth to the LG UltraGear 48GQ900. But let’s find out the qualities of this display.
The LG UltraGear 48GQ900 belongs to the Big Format Gaming Display category, with a 47.5 ″ diagonal and a 4K resolution panel derived from that adopted on smart TVs. Super high image quality and perfect colors thanks to 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
As for TV a refresh rate of 120Hz cannot be missingbut which in this specific case can be overclocked and brought up to 138Hz. While the response delay is really lightning fast and stands at only 0.1msten times less than most gaming monitors!
To make the most of these features, the monitor is equipped with three HDMI 2.1 inputs to which you can connect PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X even at the same time as well as of course the PC. All three HDMI inputs also they also support the VRR of both next-gen consoles, unlike what happens with most monitors on the market. This means no tearing, greater fluidity of the images and less LAG.
For those who also use the PC, a Display Port input is also available. Plus the monitor is not only compatible with VRR but also with AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync.
Another really noteworthy feature is the 4-pole headphone output, to which it is recommended to connect your best gaming headphones. This is because LG has thought of also offer DTS Headphone: X technology for immersive 3D audio like in the cinema!
The new UltraGear 2022 monitors will all be available in Italy at the end of the summer.
