Kazunori Yamauchi, father of the Gran Turismo series, said he was open to the possibility of enter the PC market with its latest creature: Gran Turismo 7. The affirmation came during an interview granted to GTPlanet at the Finali Mondiali in Monaco.
This it’s not the first time we’ve seen Gran Turismo 7 approached the world of PC Gaming. During one of the huge leaks of the NVIDIA database, GT7 emerged among the various First Party exclusives of PlayStation Studios which then landed on the PC market. And here, therefore, that leak acquires more validity with a brief, how eloquent, “Yes, I think about it” spoken by Kazunori Yamauchi in response to a targeted question from GTPlanet regarding the PC port of GT7.
Kazunori yamauchi then added that, if this port ever materializes, it would be a long and difficult process. “Gran Turismo is a very refined title. NoThere aren’t many platforms that can handle the game in native 4K at 60fpsso one way to make this possible is to restrict the number of platforms. It’s not a very easy subjectbut we are looking into it and considering it.”
That would be a really brave movethat of Polyphony Digital, because first of all it would open up for the first time to the concept of multi-platform, with all the benefits given by a PC version of Gran Turismo 7. Polyphony Digital should therefore best refine the console versions, still not free from bugs. At the same time, the Japanese team should reach a very demanding market where the most hardcore simulators are the masters.
And as if that weren’t enough, its all-time rival is arriving in the first half of 2023.
