STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will not be released until 2024 or 2025as reported by Russian insider Vitaly Kazunov. In fact, it would seem that Microsoft is canceling the pre-orders of the game and this would suggest a postponement, due to the poor conditions in which the Ukrainian development team is working.
In recent months, several sources have revealed that numerous developers, the first-person protagonists of the project, left the studio about six months ago. In their place there would be new hires and they would be asked to build most of the game’s assets from the start. So, at least, the insider’s story.
GSC Games World, however, strongly rejects this narrative. Through some messages sent through the studio’s Discord servers. A user who had submitted the question received an immediate response: “STALKER 2 is expected in 2023”. He therefore reiterated the position on which GSC says it has been stuck for months.
“We had to postpone the game to 2023 without giving a precise date”a GSC Game World spokesperson explained to PC Gamer. “We made the announcement during Microsoft’s Extended Show at E3, along with a Dev Diary and an introductory cutscene. Microsoft refunds all pre-orders without an exact release date. When we release it, pre-orders will be back on Xbox. On PC (Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG) pre-orders were not affected by this “. Therefore, the rumors circulated by the insider had already received a denial.
