The Gran Turismo Challenge: The Movie Tour will take place in various Swiss cinemas and at other locations from May 20th until the cinema release on August 10th.
The Gran Turismo Challenge: The Movie Tour starts on May 20th in the Arena Cinemas Basel. Every afternoon, racing fans can compete in the racing simulators and win a Logitech G29 Driving Force steering wheel and a voucher for a visit to a Fusion Arena Virtual Reality Center at each qualifying location.
The participants drive in Gran Turismo 7 on a PS5 console in VR mode with the Playstation VR2 glasses and the Logitech G29. The virtual races are moderated by Massimo Sena, GT player from the very beginning, who runs his own racing league with almost 300 members with his Spartan Racing Team.
The fastest driver at each tour location qualifies for the finale in early August in the Arena Cinemas Zurich. The six finalists will be supported by two former Swiss GT Academy drivers who were also successful in the GT Academy sponsored by Nissan and PlayStation at the time of Jann Mardenborough’s rise from gamer to racer. Tim Grossenbacher qualified in 2011 for the semi-finals in Le Castellet, France, Rolf Ueltschi even made it to the boot camp in Silverstone in 2012, where he was one of six finalists to take part in his first real race.
The six finalists of the Gran Turismo Challenge: The Movie Tour compete against each other in two simulators. The virtual races will be broadcast live on the cinema screen. The winner will win a private theatrical screening of an upcoming Sony Pictures film for up to 20 people.
