About two months after the release of the zombie sequel Dead Island 2, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios have communicated plans for several DLC plans. Here we tell you what to expect.
Dead Island 2 owners who are already hungry for supplies can look forward to a first wave of DLC with multiple content. Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios announced today. These will be both free and paid expansions that will appear alongside the usual Quality of Life patches.
Two paid expansions are said to add new missions, weapons, skills and areas to the game. The first add-on will be “House” and will answer the question of how a billionaire prepares for the zompokalypse – namely with a techno death cult and a dose of debauchery and blood. This expansion is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.
The second big add-on is called “SOLA Festival” and will also welcome you to the event of the same name – with one rave after the other. “SOLA Festival” is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2024. Both DLCs are part of the Expansion Pass, but can also be purchased separately.
Today, however, you’ll get access to the new cosplay feature unlocked during the Call The Cavalry quest. Above this you can access a collection of new character skins that you can use to customize the butchers. There are then premium character packs with a unique skin for the slayer named in the pack and a weapon for all slayers. Six such packs are planned, all of which will be available in the digital stores starting today.
Starting today, players can access the new Cosplay-feature access. This is unlocked during the Call The Cavalry quest, after which players canCosplay via the main menu or by visiting any storage room in the game. Cosplay houses a brand new collection of character skins that can be used to customize the butchers:
Character packs 1 (Silver Star Jacob) and 2 (Cyber Slayer Amy) are available to all Deluxe, Gold and HELL-A Edition owners of Dead Island 2. Four additional character packs – Gaelic Queen Dani (included for Expansion Pass owners), Jungle Fantasy Ryan, Steel Horse Carla and Venice Vogue Bruno – are also available to further enhance the butcher’s stylish look.
The “Til Dawn” collection is free and includes a new skin for each of the six butchers. These will automatically appear in the cosplay section after the last game update once you reach the unlock point. More free skins are available for Amazon Prime Gaming members starting June 15th.
After several studio changes and almost ten years of development, the zombie party actually appears.
