Dark Souls, PC servers are about to be back online

Online multiplayer is about to make its comeback

After months of speculation and unconfirmed news of corrections coming up, FromSoftware has finally officially confirmed the return of online gaming servers Dark Souls on PC.

It all goes back to the beginning of 2022when the discovery of a serious security vulnerability in Dark Souls 3 led the publisher Bandai Namco to suspend servers PvP for all games Dark Souls on PC. Bandai And FromSoftware had initially stated that the servers would be kept offline until after the release of Elden Ring, suggesting that the service would be restored relatively quickly, but it did not. Four months later, the servers are still untraceable.

The return of the Dark Souls online servers

A post on Reddit earlier this month stated that a support representative from Bandai Namco he said help was on the way, and now we finally know it straight from the source.

“We are currently restoring the online servers for the Dark Souls series on PC”he has declared FromSoftware in an e-mail sent to the editorial staff of PC Gamer. “We plan to restore the online service for each game progressively, bringing the servers back to Dark Souls 3 once the necessary work is completed to correct the problem.”

We will provide further updates as soon as the recovery program is finalized. We want to thank all of our players for their patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue

There is no precise roadmap, and the declaration on the restoration of “Each game progressively” is a bit confusing: It might suggest they will be made in order (1, 2, 3), but the mention of Dark Souls 3 it specifically indicates that it will be the first – which makes more sense, as it is played a lot more than the others.
