The highlights

The most important event for the CD Projekt Group was the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 5 And Xbox Selfries X | S, as well as a major update for all platforms. The CEO Adam Kiciński stated that the launch “had a positive effect on game perception and sales figures, especially on consoles “and that the game accounted for the majority of the company’s first quarter revenue.

In an investor presentation, a chart showed that between the January 1st and the February 14 (the day before the next-gen update is released), most of the sales of Cyberpunk took place on PC. Between February 15 and the 31 March, Total sales of the game more than doubled, with the majority up PlayStation and a significant part on Xbox. Sales on PC remained substantially unchanged.

This is a long overdue boost for a game that has had problems since launch. The release of the next-gen versions was originally scheduled for last year, but has been postponed to the first quarter of 2022. With the improved version of Cyberpunk 2077 now in circulation, Kiciński stated that “Most of our development capacity is currently dedicated to the main story-centric expansion,” whose release is scheduled for next year.

With Cyberpunk 2077 finally receiving the welcome it should have received at launch, it seems that CD Projekt RED is finally back on track after two turbulent years. The company plans further success in the near future with the expansion of its title RPGwhich will arrive next year.

The company also reiterated that its development study CD Projekt Red is also working on a new chapter in the series The Witcherwhich will be the first of the company’s games to be made with Unreal Engine 5. An update next-gen for The Witcher 3 is scheduled for the second half of the year, while one is in the works “Complete edition” which will contain expansions and new downloadable content inspired by the live-action series of Netflix.
