Assassin’s Creed: Mirage: Renowned leaker names concrete release date

There have been a few rumors about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage in the past few weeks, which were mainly about postponements. Now a renowned leaker has spoken up and announced a possible specific release date.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is known to be the next installment in the long-running action hit series, albeit smaller in scope than recently released titles such as Valhalla. Nevertheless, the expectations are high, after all, Mirage should playfully return more to the gameplay of the first parts of the series. But when is it now?

Recently, there has been a lot of speculation about the game. Among other things, there was talk of a postponement until the new year 2024, before the well-known and well-informed insider Tom Henderson claimed to have heard about an internal postponement from August to October 2023. Of course, that’s the far less bad scenario for fans of the series – and if another insider is to be believed, Henderson’s most recently published report is correct.

Via Twitter Another very reliable leaker, Idle Sloth, has now spoken up and refers to an almost 20-minute video by insider j0nathan on YouTube. Idle Sloth underlines the new information published there, according to which Assassin’s Creed: Mirage starring Basim Ibn Ishaq as the master assassin should be available from October 12, 2023.

Even if this would be in line with the latest information from Henderson, this date is not yet finally set in stone. Finally, a postponement until November is also conceivable – probably depending on the progress of the development work. For the moment, however, October 12th is in the internal planning – and thus a publication before the end of this year.

Final certainty should prevail with the broadcast of Ubisoft Forward next month, when Ubisoft is expected to present the game in detail. However, a release in October or November would continue the long history of Assassin’s Creed releases during this period.

Incidentally, the video also contains some other interesting information about the new title: Mirage is said to be significantly smaller than the last main offshoot of the series – a fact that was already widely known. The map will focus on the city of Baghdad and the surrounding areas. The skill tree still has around 15 skills and abilities. For comparison, the original Assassin’s Creed in 2007 got nine in this respect. And: The stealth mechanics should – as before – now be significantly more pronounced than last.
