The news had been in the air for a while but it seems that the first definitive confirmation has arrived that Amber Heard will no longer be part of the cast of Aquaman 2.
To report the news exclusively is the site Just Jared where we learn of the fact that Heard would have been officially cut out of the film due to the numerous complaints and petitions that arose after the now famous lawsuit involving the woman and ex-husband Johnny Depp.
But the news does not end there: it seems that despite the departure of Amber Heard, the character of Mera will continue to be present in the film as Warner Bros. would have made the decision to proceed with a last second recasting.
At the moment it is not known who could be the new interpreter of the character who will join Momoa inside the film as he is not sure that this can really happen with the shooting of Aquaman 2 now finished.
Precisely for these reasons the news must be taken with a grain of salt, also considering the fact that Warner Bros. has not yet commented in any way on the news and before taking it for real we will have to wait for news from the official channels.
In short, despite the truthfulness of the news it looks like this is not the best time for Amber Heard that after losing the case with her husband she could find herself in the same situation as her, risking losing very important roles.
But now the word is up to you. What do you think of this controversial choice of Warner Bros.? Does removing an actor or actress from a film for private life reasons make sense?
We remind you that Aquaman 2 will arrive in our cinemas on March 16, 2023. Until then, keep following us to stay up to date with the latest news and any updates on the story!
